Week- 11~ Framework for Sustainable Development: Islamic Worldviews

Assalamualaykum my friends and readers to my new blog. In this blog, I will share about “Framework for Sustainable Development: Islamic Worldviews”. We have talked about this in our class discussion therefore, I will elaborate my discussion from my prior knowledge regarding this.

According to Islam, there are five things that a Muslim should protect in life for sustainable development.

◾ Lineage

◾ Wealth

◾ Religion

◾ Life

◾ Intellect

Firstly, protection of lineage means the protection of the planet. In Islam is has been ordered to take care of our nature and environment. Since we take lots of benefits from the environment, it is our responsibility to nurture our surroundings as well and keep them healthy and heal them as much as possible. There are many hadith and sunnah mentioned in Islam for sustainable development.

“ There are none amongst the Muslims who plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird or a       person or an animal eats from it, but is regarded as a charitable gift for him. (Bukhari)

Secondly, in our society wealth has not distributed equally among us. Some people are poor and some are wealthy. According to Islam, it is our responsibility to take care of poor people. Since Allah has mentioned clearly that the reziq and right of poor people are in rich people’s wealth. Therefore, every wealthy and rich Muslim needs to give sadaqah.

Then comes religion. Following the Islamic rules is mandatory for establishing a sustainable society. Islam is the only religion where we can learn to live life peacefully. And also a virtuous life is maintained to make a Sustainable Development.

Lastly, the protection of intellect refers to the people themselves. Intellect is the source of people’s honor and virtue. To take care of own self. To make a person virtuous by having a clear sense of right and wrong.

To end, these are the main facts that should be concerned for a sustainable development society from Islamic Worldviews.

Firstly, I will talk about Global warming m The consistent rise of the temperature of the earth is called global warming. It is one of the biggest challenges that we are facing. For 25 million years the earth’s climate is fluctuating, cycling to ice ages from warm appearance. But from the last century, the planet temperature has risen unusually fast about 1.2 to 1.4-degree spheroid. It’s human activities that are driving the temperature up. Since, industrial revolution factories, power plants, fossil fuel from cars like oil release carbon dioxide and many gases into the atmosphere and is harming the earth gradually. Another challenge is overpopulation. The population of the earth is getting unsustainable. The earth now is facing a shortage of resources like water, food, etc. T...

Assalamualaikum my fellow mates and readers. I welcome you all to my other blog. In this new blog, I will discuss Islamic views regarding sustainable development. In Islam is has been ordered to take care of our nature and environment. Since we take lots of benefits from the environment, it is our responsibility to nurture our surroundings and keep them healthy and heal them as much as possible. There are many hadith and sunnah mentioned in Islam for sustainable development.                                “Do not cause corruption on the earth” (2.12) Allah does not like corrupters. Corruption is forbidden (haram) in Islamic teaching. Again, as Muslims, we need to follow these lessons from our messengers. Week 2: Balancing Ecology and Economics

Assalamualaikum, welcome to my blog about ‘Balancing Ecology and Economic’. Now a days economy is flourishing very rapidly worldwide. However, the world is encountering its disadvantages at a same time. Moreover, the stakeholders are only focusing on profit rather environmental destructions which is eventually drowning them in to darkness. Mushrooming of hundreds and thousands factories show the growth of economy of a country but eventually it is harming the ecological balance around us. Therefore, we are living in a polluted environment which is totally man mane. It is now causing air pollution, sound pollution, water pollution and ultimately turns into human disease. That ends up breathing in a sick environment. Economic growth needs to be environmentally sustainable. Economic activity threatens the environment, and this is why the situation is worsening day by day. We need  solutions now to protect the planet. But we need to guarantee a sustainable economy for future generations...
